CELPIP Writing

Two tasks: an email and a survey response. Raters look at content, vocabulary, readability and whether you did the task.

1. 1. Writing an Email

   27 minutes, 150 to 200 words

   Write an email about a situation, covering every point asked.

   Tips

   • Plan 3 minutes: one paragraph per instruction.
   • Match the tone to the reader: a manager, a neighbour, a friend.

2. 2. Responding to Survey Questions

   26 minutes, 150 to 200 words

   Choose one of two options in a survey and explain why.

   Tips

   • Pick the option you can support with two clear reasons.
   • You may mention the other option, but stay with your choice.
